English blue and white delftare puzzle jug, Liverpool c. 1760, the body decorated with floral sprays and the verse "Here gentlemen come try your skill, I'le hould a wager if you will...", the neck pierced with flowerheads and petals, the rim with three sipping spouts, height: 6 7/8in., 17.6cm; condition: damage to end of two spouts, frit to rim and handle, firing fault to top of handle.
