Chinese famille verte charger, Kangxi (1662-1722), decorated in the centre with a riverbank scene with fisherman working and at leisure, with pagoda and mountains in the distance, the border with six cartouches containing flower branches, birds and insects, against a diaper background, diameter: 14 3/4in., 37.5cm; condition: dish broken in half and restored to a very high standard, small chip to rim restored, shallow frits to rim. A similar charger can be found in the V&A Collection, Museum No: CIRC.648-1931 (Ceramics Study Galleries, Asia & Europe, room 137, case 9, shelf 1). SOLD
