Meissen plate in the Kakiemon style, c. 1735-40, decorated with two cranes and bird in flight above a flowering bush, the rim moulded with pie-crust rim, with cross-swords mark in underglaze blue to base, diameter: 9 1/8in., 23.3cm; condition: slight rubbing. For a similar plate see Bonham's Bond St sale on 12th December 2012, lot 18. The cranes and birds are based on a Chinese Famille Verte dish from the collection of Augustus the Strong. SOLD
