Chinese famille rose cockerel-form teapot, Qianlong (1736-95), the open beak forming the spout, with its tail feathers curved to form a handle, feathers and plumage decorated with brightly coloured enamels, with spray of flowers to handle, height: 5 3/8in., 13.6cm; condition: small area of restoration and small chip to right foot, small frits to comb of head, some wear.
