Large Chinese blue and white octagonal baluster jar and cover, Kangxi (1662-1722), with eight panels containing birds and insects among branches of flowering cherry blossom, the rim with eight panels of flowers issuing from rockwork, the cover with bud finial and eight panels containing similar decoration to the neck, height: 23 1/4in., 59cm; condition: small area of restoration near base, frit to rim of cover, chip to underside of finial.
