Chinese blue and white dish, Kangxi mark and of the period (1662-1722), with foliate rim, decorated in the centre with a scholar standing between an incense burner and an attendant carrying a fan, all within a garden scene with two rabbits, plantain and a crane flying above, the rim with eight petal-shaped panels alternately containing two ladies and peony issuing from rockwork against a key-fret ground, diameter: 13 1/2in., 34.2cm. A similar dish with a lady in the centre can be found in the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston; Accession no. 25.235. SOLD
