Chinese famille rose 'tobacco leaf' tea caddy, Qianlong (1736-95), decorated with tropical foliage with hibiscus and passion flowers, with wooden stopper, height:4 1/4in., 10.9cm. Chinese porcelain tea canisters were produced as part of tea services for export to Europe. The curved form of the canister is probably based upon a silver or pewter original. SOLD
