Pair of Chinese famille verte plates, Kangxi (1662-1722), decorated with four lotus-leaf cartouches containing prunus, pine and bamboo issuing from rockwork, separated by stylised lotus buds, in the centre a stylised floral motif, diameter: 8 1/4in. 21 cm, Helen Glatz labels, condition: shallow frits to rim, possible restoration. An illustrated example of a plate with the same pattern on a green ground can be found in Jorg, 'Famille Verte', p. 65, pl. 66. Variations of this pattern were also produced on 18th century Delft faience.
