Pair of early Meissen double-handled beakers, circa 1715-20, decorated with moulded birds and fruiting vines and applied with ear-shaped handles, height: 3in., 7.7cm; condition: one with two chips to rim. Provenance: From the Collection of Eveline Newgas, née Blumka, The Blumkas were one of the most prestigious art and antique dealers in early 20th century Vienna, who moved to London in 1938 to escape Nazi persecution. These pieces were acquired by Eveline Newgas at Phillips London, 4 December 1991, lot 219 as she continued to add to the family’s private collection. SOLD
