Pair of Chinese famille rose 'tobacco leaf' plates, Qianlong (1736-95), with foliated rim, decorated with a robed lady poling a lotus-pad boat filled with flowers, with tropical foliage, hibiscus and passion flowers, diameter: 9in., 23cm; condition: one with a hairline and shallow chip to underside of rim and minute frits to rim, the other minute frits to rim and firing fault to base.
