Chinese famille verte dish, Kangxi (1662-1722), decorated in the centre with a man and women in court dress on a pavilion terrace holding flutes with two ladies in fenced garden below watching two phoenix in flight below scrolling clouds, the rim with four cartouches containing auspicious emblems against a diaper ground enclosing prunus blossoms and geometric shapes, diameter: 10 1/2in., 26.7cm; condition: rim polished. Traditionally a pair of flying phoenix (fenghuang yufei) represents the wish for a harmonious marriage. SOLD
