Pair of Chinese famille verte bottle vases, Kangxi (1662-1722), decorated with three Buddhist lions playing with a ball tied with long ribbons, the lower neck with a band of flowering leafy tendrils with prunus and peony blossoms, below upright ruyi-lappets, the rim with a band of diaper decoration above a downturned ruyi-lappet suspending alternating auspicious emblems, all below a band of diaper decoration, height: 10 5/8in., 27cm; condition: one with restored chips to foot, the other with star-crack to rim and hairline to body. A similar vase can be found in the Victoria & Albert Museum Collection, Salting Bequest no. C.1193-1910.
