Chinese blue and white 'lotus' jar and cover, 16th century, Ming dynasty (1368-1626), decorated with foliate scrolls bearing lotus blossoms below a band of petals, the neck with flower sprays and lozenges, with lappets around the foot, height: 11 1/2in., 30.4cm; condition: 2 hairlines to rim of jar, fritting to cover. A Wanli period jar with similar decoration can be found in the British Museum Collection, Franks.143; a similar jar without a cover is also illustrated in Krahl, R., 'Chinese Ceramics in the Topkapi Saray Museum Istanbul', vol.
