A Meissen 'ornithological' two-handled oval soup tureen and cover, circa 1750, raised on four paw feet, decorated with vignettes of birds with butterflies and insects, with a band of alt-Brandenstein moulding to rim of tureen and cover, with crossed-swords mark, diameter of bowl: 11 1/16in., 28.1cm; condition: handles broken off and re-stuck, star-crack to side, chips to feet.
