Pair of Dutch delft blue and white beaker vases, c. 1700, decorated with branches of flowering prunus, peony and chrysanthemum issuing from rockwork, with 'PK' mark to base (probably belonging to Pieter Gerritsz, Kam, owner in 1700 of 'De Drie Porseleyne Astonnen), height: 13 3/4in., 35cm; condition: one with a piece out of the rim re-stuck and hairline to rim, damage to base and chips and frits to edges, the other with two faint hairlines and fritting to edges. Provenance: with labels of 'Gwen Smith Collection, Leicester' to base. The shape of these vases is probably based upon the Chinese gu-form. SOLD
