Rare Chinese famille verte dish, Kangxi (1662-1722), decorated with a central lotus-shaped roundel containing a lone figure with a stick walking in landscape, a bird flying overhead, bordered by a decorative band of scrolling flowerheads and a wider band containing half-floral roundels against a red scale ground, the wide rim with twelve large radiating petal-shaped panels containing blossoming peony, divided by narrow panels of underglaze blue, all against a yellow ground, the reverse with four peony sprays and concentric circles to the base.

Condition:
Broken and re-stuck.
Notes:
The figure may represent Hui-Ming from the 'Romance of the Western Chamber', a monk with a stick who was entrusted with a letter written by Zhang, asking General Du Que for help against the attack of rebellious troops.
