Dutch Delft blue and white plate, c. 1700, decorated in the centre with a couple conversing in an interior scene, the border with five floral cartouches against a diaper ground, diameter: 8 13/16in., 22.5cm; condition: small chips and frits to rim, faint star-cracks. The design of this plate is based upon a Chinese Kangxi period original depicting a scene from the 'Romance of the Western Chamber'. SOLD
